The Langhe and Roero, two territories whose cultures reach back for centuries, are today part of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape and provoke strong emotions in those who discover them. They are the ideal place to immerse yourself in an authentic land still governed by nature, where you will find an ancient atmosphere that offers rich artistic heritage, monumental castles, churches, and villages with long histories.

The Langhe and Roero zones of Piedmont have a colorful variety of gastronomic specialties, ready to be discovered at the many farmsteads and shops that are the backbone of this region’s economy: the Piedmont Hazelnut IGP and its nougats and cakes; cow and goat milk cheeses; prized, cured meats; fruit and vegetables; Roero honey; chestnuts and preserves, and more. And, of course, the great whites and reds of the area – Barolo and Barbaresco, overall – and the inimitable White Alba Truffle, the “white gold” of the earth.

Alba is located just 13 kilometers away from Agriturismo Marcarini, a town known as the “capital of the Langhe.” With its active cultural life and healthy economy, Alba hosts the International Fair of the White Truffle of Alba in the fall; and Vinum in the spring, an event dedicated to the discovery and tasting of the best wines from the surrounding territories.

Starting from the Agriturismo Marcarini, several different routes are available for discovering this region: the Langhe, home of prestigious wines Barolo and Barbaresco, to explore by visiting wineries and wine shops; the Roero, located to the left of the Tanaro river and up to the border of the provinces of Asti and Turin; or visit the medieval castles of Barolo, Roddi, Grinzane Cavour, Serralunga d'Alba, Castiglione Falletto, Guarene and many other villages.

Agriturismo Marcarini offers guests the opportunity to relax and to get active. Explore the pristine, green hills on foot, on bike, horseback riding, or canoeing. Searching for the Alba White Truffle while accompanied by an expert hunter, or trifolao, is also fun (and hopefully rewarding!). Or, experience the thrill of a hot air balloon ride to appreciate some of the best views that Piedmont has to offer.
